The bike dilemma

Hey I booked a new Karizma-R on 13th Feb 2010. Thought would retire my old pulsar 150 classic or use it for city commutes only.

I had a host of choices before buying - the Unicorn, the Thunderbird Twinspark , the TVS Apache RTR 180 (the menace) etc.

The Unicorn by itself is the best product in comfort and refinement but however it being a 150cc engine itself was a deterrent for me. Not that I didnt like it but then if Honda would have brought in a 200cc atleast I would have bought it blindly. I swear. This choice was gone.

The Bullet was a good choice and people told me to consider nothing but it but sadly the budget didnt permit me plus I had apprehensions of bullets not being reliable (maybe wrong) but then I had it in some corner of my mind. This choice too was gone.

TVS RTR was a nice contender but it didnt prove itself over the years so this also gone.

The good choice for me of-course was the ZMA-R , not the new ZMR. So went ahead and booked the bike. The bike is perfect for me atleast. Maybe others would differ! The bike should be delivered by 15th March hopefully after a months waiting!

Long time no see ;-)

Have been busy updating my other blog pages , will post small para's of stuff happening in life on this on regular basis. But for now this one is enough :)

A nice weekend

Had a great weekend (19-20 Sept 2008). Friday night had a great party @ Yellow Chillies at Koregaon Park (the hotel is owned by Sanjeev Kapoor of Khana Khajana fame).

Saturday morning it was raining and that too furiously. It was raining on friday too and non-stop. The climate conditions on friday made me think it would be a boring weekend sitting at home but it was not to be.

Friday afternoon there was a mail from Shailesh regarding the weekend and whether we should meet for sometime and stuff , most of the people were uninterested so I thought the weekend would be a boring affair :)

Early in the morning on Saturday I received a call from Shailesh that shall we enjoy something this weekend by going to a movie Rock On!! and then deciding what to do next. He asked me to contact Saurabh as he was too coming.

Saurabh called me to say that we could goto Mangala @ 5.45 pm show for Rock On! and then have a great evening @ JM road before retiring for the day @ Shailesh's place and Sunday was promising enough with a badminton game in the morning with Abhijeet and Vishal (Builder) and then something else too.

Tanmay had called up Friday that we can meet up on Sunday afternoon for lunch as we hadnt met a long time , so we decided we could meet up after the badminton session and have a nice time.

Deepak had opted out of the saturday stuff because of some personal stuff so he wasnt there on saturday.

I started saturday at 4pm from home , as my pass had expired took the pass at the station and got onto the 4.21pm local at Chinchwad. Met Saurabh and had an uneventful ride to Shivajinagar. The rain had stopped but the sky was still overcast and we were praying that it shouldnt rain until we reached Mangala. We walked the way from Shivajinagar station to Mangala in about 20-25 minutes discussing stuff.

We reached Mangala at about 5pm and took the tickets for Rock On! - I was seeing the movie for the 3rd time and as Sau was seeing it for the 1st time I decided to give him company and also the movie was good so not a problem. Shailesh came in by 5.30pm and we went into the theater and enjoyed the movie. The movie was rocking even when I was seeing it for the 3rd time. :)

We came out of the movie by 8pm and went to JM road for dinner. In between Shailesh showed us the river @ PMC which had a large volume of water thanks to the heavy rains, the river was ferocious and we had a great time seeing the river and the side road which was submerged in the water.

Had a great dinner @ Subhadra on JM and came out. Decided to take ice-creams from Naturals and have a walk along the river side. Came to the PMC bridge and discussed stuff about traffic and Pune and all. Came back to the car-parking took the car and went to Shailesh's home and retired for the night.

Morning had tea at shailesh's place and went to Tilak Road for playing badminton at Marathwada Hall. We had breakfast at Tilak Hotel and went to the hall. We met Abhijeet and Builder there and then had a great session of badminton for about 2 hours by the end of which we were exhausted but felt energetic. We decided to play badminton every weekend or atleast when we were free. Its a nice and energetic game and we needed something like this to break our lazy routine for the weekends.

We came out of the badminton hall and went to Tilak hotel and had vada-pav and sarbat and then parted saying byes to each other and went to CCD @ JM road to meet Tanmay. Tanmay was already there and Veena and Himani had also joined in. We had a great time chatting with them and then went to Aryan hotel near FC road for lunch.

The lunch was ok-ok and we had mexican food , Deepak had joined us for lunch here after doing his work in Pune and we had a great time chatting and eating. Sharayu also came in for lunch. After lunch we parted saying good bye to everyone. Me , Shailesh and Saurabh decided to go to the tekdi near Paud road and Deepak would join us later as he had to meet some friend.

We went to Shailesh's hous again and freshened ourselves and went to the tekdi at 5pm. Chaitanya too joined in and Deepak was waiting at the top at the parking. We walked our way to the highest point (Vetal tekdi) via a jungle path which was wet and slushy. We reached the top and immediately climbed a machan which was erected there. Once on top of the machan the views were simply amazing.

We could see the whole Pune city and all the places. Had a great time here and took some photos there. Came down from the Machan and went to the Vetaal maharaj mandir and paid our respects and went to the backside there to see the sunset. The tekdi was connected to the Pashan and Chaturshringi hills and we could actually trek/hike the whole place as it was connected. I plan to do that sometime.

We took photos of the sun going down and also enthusiastic people :) and started back. Took a bus from the Paud phata to PMC with Saurabh. Deepak on his bike went to Talegaon with his sis.
Walked down from PMC to Shivajinagar station and took the local back home.

A nice weekend to say. Full of adventure and meetings with friends!

Marathon movie watch

Hey i did a marathon movie watch at esquare on 15/6/08. I am a crazy guy doing crazy stuff. This was a part of that craziness.

That friday a number of good movies released so saturday it was! I reached e2 at 8.30am for the 9am show of 21.As usual vikram a friend of mine didnt come on time bt i went inside d audi and the film started.Later i was joined by him and another friend priti. We were sitting on the first row screen 3!

21 is a nice movie with crisp execution and thrilling sequences.A must watch.Roughly a 2.05hr movie and totally entertaining. It is about a guy who needs to get into medical school but doesnt have the money. He is a genius at maths and some people take undue advantage of him and his talent.I wont reveal the whole plot here you must watch it to know.
My rating : 8/10.Ticket price:50/-

After this movie i dropped priti at home and joined vikram for lunch at good luck, deccan.Had a nice lunch and then again went to e2 to watch "The Happening" 12.45pm show. The movie is about the mystery of plants which release some toxins making people kill themselves without any reason.I failed to comprehend the logic. The film was slow and bore without anything logical and dragged.Full marks to Mark Wahlbergs acting but M.Shyamalan seriously doesnt know how to make such movies.Total paisa waste of 1.45 hrs.We came out at 2.45pm and vikram declared that he has to go home.

After he went i was alone so thought should go home and come back at 10pm for dasavatharam for which i had booked tkts for 7 people from PI. Then i thought that lets not go home and come back as my home is in chinchwad and a good 16km from here.

So i decided to watch a movie yet again.I saw tht d only movie for which tkts available was sarkar raj.I hadnt seen it so went for the 4.15pm show.In between 3 and 4.15 i went to crossword and got some old movie vcds.As the clock struck 4.10pm i went to screen 4.Sarkar Raj was seriously dissappointing.Ram Gopal Verma didnt make it proper this time. The old sarkar was good. This one pretends to be.Story is ok.
The movie ended at 6.50pm.When i came out i saw that it was pouring cats and dogs outside. Now it wasnt wise to venture out at this time and I had 3 hours to kill until dasavatharam.Sadly all movies started 6.30pm so couldnt take any show, had to wait until 10pm.

Left with no choice, had to loiter inside e2.Didnt have dinner too as was alone! Painfully those 3 hrs went by.

By 9.45pm deeps and narayani had come and so did vidyashankar and harish.Bala and Naresh too joined soon.VS and Harish had their dinner there and we went to screen3 where the movie was scheduled.

We went inside the hall and the movie started.Soon dr.Kamal Hasan made his entry in the movie and the whistling started. The movie is based on chaos theory and is very logical.Kamal Hasan has played ten different roles. The film starts with the 12th century shaivite ,vaishnavite clash where KH plays the role of rangaraja nambi,a devout vaishnavite. The movie then goes to the year 2004 and starts off! Its a roller coaster ride and the story is superb.KH comes as george bush, cia agent, tall afghan, raw officer, old lady, social activist, sardar, japanese ninja, normal kh.All the roles played are superb. The characters have well defined roles and come at the correct time. The execution, direction is very good. However the ending is nt gud and the film did drag at the end somehow. The movie ended at 1.30am.We all bid each other gudbye and i came home at 2am.

Whew what a marathon it was! Would like to do the same again. So until next time logging off! Bye.

Konkan trip

Had been to Konkan over the weekend of 26-27 April 2008. It was an amazing experience on bike.

We (me and Vik) started from Chandani Chowk at 7.45 am and were cruising at 50kmph. Vik wasnt confident so he told me that we wont speed..I too didnt like the idea of speeding at the start of the journey but was a little apprehensive that we might be reaching late..but anyways we were cruising.

The best part is the roads. I was amazed at the quality of the roads on this route , we were to take the Paud -> Mulshi -> Dongarwadi -> Tamhini -> Vile -> Nizampur -> Mangaon route. I am sure going to try this route during monsoon to see how its like.Except for a few stretches on the ghats the roads are very good.I guess they were laid recently but nevertheless they were good.

After an hour or so we reached Mulshi Khurd where we stopped for breakfast, the time read 9am. Had a good breakfast of misal , vada and chai and started again for the destination. The roads ahead were a mix of good and bad , the good ones were really good and the bad ones were not much. I really hope the roads stay this way after the monsoons :) We made a resolution of riding at 50kmph and it was fun crusing at that speed.

Riding on the ghat was fun and the roads were ok. Reached Mangaon at around 10.55am and had a break for water and cooling off. Surprisingly being in Konkan the heat and humidity didnt affect much because of the cloudy weather we couldnt feel the sun hence the heat didnt affect us, infact i was feeling cool.

We reached Mhasla in no time (18 km from Mangaon) via the SH-98 and it was a dream road all through to Mhasla via the Morbi ghat road. Finally we took the right turn from Mhasla for Diveagar (20 km from Mhasla). The road here is also good. We reached Diveagar at 12.30pm and had darshan at the Golden Ganpati temple and called up the people where we had booked for the day as couldnt find their house. Finally , the person himself came to see us and we went with him to his place.

His home was good and we got a room on the 1st floor , the room was spacious and had the necessary things.Cool breeze was blowing out and we were just sitting out and enjoying. Our stomachs started growling for lunch and we booked our lunches at Patils Khanaval nearby. The food there was tasty and good for 100 bucks per plate. We came back to the room and just sat for sometime before leaving for Srivardhan.

There are two roads for Srivardhan from Diveagar one is via Shekhadi (the worst road i have ever seen in my life) and the other is on the route from Mhasla to Diveagar where we need to tak e a right while going from Diveagar to Mhasla at Borli village. This road is simply awesome and good. We ended taking the bad road via Shekhadi though you get some amazing views on that road of the sea and the sea stays with you throughout the journey.

We reached Srivardhan beach in about 45 minutes (srivardhan is 16km from Diveagar) and went directly to the beach and had a nice time playing in water for sometime and photography.
Finally we just sat there for sunset and had an amazing view , btw srivardhan beach is no longer clean with plastic littered to its length and breadth, it sure is becoming polluted from the number 1 status it had, clearly and influx of tourists plus neglection is leading to its decay.

After sunset we started again for Diveagar via the same bad road (we didnt know about the existence of a better road) and continued. At one place a person stopped me and asked for a lift upto shekhadi which I gave willingly , he was some daily wage worker and was returning home on foot because at that time no vehicle / six seaters pass by. He got down at Shekhadi and thanked us profusely even telling us to come back next day to his place and he would give us a free ride in his boat in the sea. We said our goodbyes to him and came back. The road was hell. It was more of road patches in between craters !

Finally we arrived at Diveagar and went to the room and freshened ourselves and went for dinner. Dinner was good and we went to the room and did some time pass before retiring for the day. Sleep was more or less good partly because we were tired of the day driving and partly because of the bad road :)

Next day morning we woke up and went to the Diveagar beach , I can rate this as a better one than Srivardhan (really) and its bigger than Srivardhan. We spent some time photographing and returned back to the room. Had a nice bath and left the place. The total charges for room and dinner for the day was 500bucks, quite ok. We left for Harihareshwar at 10am and on the way stopped near the Suvarna Ganpati Mandir and had nariyal pani and continued on our way to Harihareshwar. The way to Harihareshwar is via Srivardhan but this time we took the other route not the Shekhadi route. The other road was simply fantastic and we had a great time going ahead. Finally we reached the petrol pump on the outskirts of Srivardhan and took the Srivardhan - Lonere road to Harihareshwar. After Lonere Phata the road looks like an expressway upto Harihareshwar , last time when I had gone the road was a mess but now lo it has transformed to a great road. We reached Harihareshwar at 11 am and immediately had an awla soda....you get these sodas there for 10 bucks, cool stuff.

We went to the temple of harihareshwar and came out and went to the rocks by the sea. The sight there is amazing totally and we enjoyed a lot there. The heat was rising and the sun was too shining brightly making us perspire to our limit as we made our way back to the hotel where we wanted to have lunch. Once at the hotel we had our lunch and finally started from Harihareshwar to Pune at 1.15pm

We turned right at the Lonere Phata and went ahead, the road ahead is two lane only until Mhasla and to add to it the ghats are dangerous there. We reached Mhasla in over 45 minutes , 32 odd km from Harihareshwar and from Mhasla the great SH-98 started , with great surface we reached Mangaon at around 3pm and had sugarcane juice and water.

We turned right after Mangaon bus stand towards Nizampur and Pune (the same route which we had taken earlier while coming from Pune). Riding now we were bored partly because of the stifling heat and partly because of boredom :). We started at 3.20pm from Mangaon and were at the ghats by 4.00pm and reached Chandani chowk by 5.30pm , all in all a great trip. We said our goodbyes and went home.

450 km of pure fun and amazing biking. Would love to do Pune-Ganapatipule sometime, lets hope :) .

Commercialization of temples

Have u ever been to Tirupati - Lord Balaji Temple OR even the Sai Baba temple at Shirdi. What is the first sight that greets you. The hymns and calmness of the temple OR the shouts of the agents who ask you for a room, or money for quick darshans.

Personally i feel that temples should have some calmness around them so that people going in there do not feel that they have come to be looted or more so being pestered. Everything is viewed in terms of money, agreed that money is important but why do we call temples as temples?

Everywhere there are blalant misuse of money and the rates demanded. The agents think that they are the only one from whom we can get help and no one else. All this happens under the nose of temple authorities but well who takes notice...they also get commission.

Every temple today is a way of making quick bucks and not to satisfy a devotee. What one expects is a calm and sancit environment with peace of mind. But i doubt if anyone gets it.

I dont want to continue on the topic as it gets more dirtier day by day and i dont want to hurt anyones' sentiments !

This scene of commercialization has changed my mindset about such big temples.

Sivaji - the boss review :)

Sivaji - the boss.

It started a speculation from a long time..caused a revolution and a thiruvizha in TN...for our superstar Rajnikanth....the Thalaivar ;)

Saw a paid preview of the movie ... dont know why they say it as a "paid preview" ... seems like there are "free previews" too...well went to INOX for the movie....a huge Tamil gathering was present there...seemed like u were in Chennai or something....

Everyone near me were speaking in Tamil...:) and everyone and all of Pune's Tamil people were there to see the movie...

Went inside near the screen and usually in INOX we dont see that much crowd for a particular movie on a weekday ... but for Sivaji it was like a train platform in Mumbai.....whew.....it was like some public gathering....

The public started whistling and shouting once the doors of the screen opened....whew people are really crazy .....I never saw such an enthusiastic crowd for any movie in INOX....I have seen such crowds in TN but never ever here..the atmosphere was electrifying...people rushed in to take their seats....and everyone was seated before you could blink ur eye....ofcourse it was housefull.....

The film started with the traditional AVM "too toooo toooo too toooo....." and the starting was like something great......I wont reveal the movie story now...

It seemed nowhere a Shankar (the director) film...but a pure Rajni style film..made by a Rajni fan...:) ... the sets for the songs were awesome and kudos to Thotta Tharani for the same....
Songs were OK - some songs were good but overall not very great for a director like Shankar....music was by apna Rahman...always the best !!

I esp liked the dialogue " Enga veetukku vandu payagunga...yennaku rendu ponnu irukka...puduchuduna kattikonga illeta friends aa irupom" :)) too hilariious...to say....Dialogues from Vivek were too good esp "aaruku mele yezhu , sivaji ki mele dead body" (i forgot the exact lines)

Overall film is OK but anything for the thalaivar....Rajni....
Suman as a villain is good..the typical south villain type for Rajni....acting by others are great...

Totally in and out a Rajni film..
the best part after the movie was the "Iyers" dicussion outside :)

GOA trip 1st and 2nd July 2006

Hey am back again to describe my experiences of GOA trip. We had a GOA team offsite as part of our 5.0 release celebrations and to relax from the tension everyone had undergone in the days before.

We started from Pune on 30th July Friday 10.00pm after a hearty meal of pizza's which was arranged by our team organizers Devdas, Amol, Sumeet, Chaitali, Mandar, Khushboo, Meenal and other people. I really appreciate the responsibility undertaken by these people to arrange the whole of the trip right from hotel bookings to bus to games to all.

We had 2 volvos for our trip 1 was a sleeper and one was a semi-sleeper. I was on the semi-sleeper with Mak as my seat companion. First of all volvos are terrific beasts.. thats what I think about them. The amount of comfort you get in a volvo is second only to an airplane or a merc I guess. The bulk of the bus and the speed leaves me awestruck at the wonder made by man... Well for those who dont know Volvo is a auto-company who make heavy duty automobiles like trucks and buses.

Coming back to 30th Night... football fever was prevlant all over and that day was the match between Argentina and Germany. Two tough teams but well we couldnt watch the match as we had to leave.

The buses then started at 10.00pm and we were airborne... well airborne would be the right word used here.... . I started by taking photos from a digi-cam of all people in the bus. The cam is my friend rahul's and he was very kind to lend it to me for the trip. We started to sing songs in the bus and suddenly the co-driver shouted that he needed sleep , well that was the end of our singing. Well the bus had a TV and a Cd player. The bus cleaner put a hindi movie "Malamaal Weekly". I should say it was the worst movie i had ever seen in my life and that too on a trip like this.. well neways the guys didnt have another cd so had to bear the bore for 2-3 hrs more.

I finally moved into a trance like state after 11.30 my sleeping time. So i tried to sleep. But as usual I dont sleep in journeys so I couldnt put myself to sleep so was awake and so were some of my friends and we kept talking to each other in low tones so as not to disturb others.

Finally we reached Kolhapur at around 2.30am 1st July morning. And from there we started towards the most exciting part of the journey. Exciting because the part is the most isolated in the whole leg of the journey and it passed through jungles. It was raining cats and dogs at this time and i have never seen such rains anywhere. But we being in a volvo didnt feel anything not even the bumps and stuff. The jungle was so isolated that I even shuddered to think what would happen if i were to go on that road alone and god forbid some thing happens to my vehicle. Not a soul in around 50km either side... man wat a situation but anyways things are not so bad and i wont try such stunts alone.

we reached Fonda ghat at 4am in the morning. The ghat is truly dangerous and it requires great skill to drive a bus esp a Volvo at that there. On top of that the visibility was so poor due to fog that you could hardly see 5m in front but the driver was the best I had ever seen in my whole life and he drove on expertly. We stopped at a roadside hotel in the morning at 5am and had tea... it was somewat refreshing... Now we were in Konkan area after descending the ghat section and it was raining heavily as usual as konkan is more towards the coast. .. We reached Kankavli at 6.30am where we joined the NH-17 popularly known as Mumbai-Goa highway... I wonder how has it been given a national highway status because the road width is so less that two buses coming in opp direction can hardly pass without stopping to make sure they dont clash... well neways it connect two states so the NH status maybe....

We reached the GOA border at 6.55am and drove on.... stopped in the middle for a refuel and man the Volvo has 2 tanks of 300l capacity each... phew 600l for the beast as a whole .... well I asked the driver what was the average and from that I understood anything less than 600l is a no-no for this bus as the average is hardly 2.5km/l of diesel.

We drove on and reached panaji at 8am. From there we went to Margao (Madgaon) and reached at 9.15am... We had the hotel's bus there to take us to the hotel from Margao...

The hotel was in Canacona which is 40km from Margao and is the southern most in GOA.
Well we reached the hotel at around 10.15am. The hotel is the Grand Resort Intercontinental and belongs to the Grand Mariott group. It is a 5 star and is spread over 86 acres of land phew.....
The reception was fabulosus with the hotel crew entertaining us with Goan music and welcome drinks....... I got my room key, had my break fast and checked in my room.. room number 1030...... well it was an awesome room , I had one more partner with me to share the room. The room was tastefully done and why not they charge 5000/- per day for the room in off-season and we had gone in off season.......

They served us with port wine and complimentary kaju and banana chips. Port wine was yuck i took some of it but it was not good.

Then I took a good bath and had a nap for 2 hrs before going for lunch at 1.00pm. Lunch was fabulous and they had a buffet style lunch. Met many of our people there who were in an enjoying mood and having lunch. One guy was doing some magic and he was doing it awesomely. It was good. Lunch was good and had some ice-cream as dessert there. Took some snaps in lunch room and went back to room for a nap.

In the evening went out to watch the sea. The sea was very rough due to the monsoons and was very dangerous. I took photos of the Resort and things around it. I met Anup who suggested we hire bikes and go somewhere. Myself,Anup,Sheetal,Chaitali,Poornima,Santosh,Sunanda,Jai and Mandar went out to see if we could get some bikes on hire.We got the bikes at 300/- each and then decided that we go to Margao (Madgaon) to do some shopping and tp. Margao is 40 km from Canacona. The bike ride was cool and we reached Madgaon in 45 minutes. The best thing I found in GOA is that the roads are tooooo good. It rains so heavily there but not a pothole man...... and pune sucks in that regard as some rain falls and the roads get potholes.....

In Madgaon we went to the local market and bought Kaju and other stuff. It was getting dark and we thought we better return back again to the resort as it was raining and we didnt want to drive in the dark. So we left for Canacona this time Anup taking the bike... I drove from Canacona to Margao and Anup was sitting behind me there now it was his turn. The ride back was too good but i was sitting behind holding two large packs of kaju and other stuff which was a pain but anyways it was worth it.

We reached the hotel at around 7.00pm and then went to our respective rooms.
I went to dinner at 8pm with Mayuresh and we had a good dinner. After dinner I went with Dev,Sethu, Jai, Preetdeep and Rishi to Dev's room to watch England vs Portugal and Brazil vs France.

The matches were good and both England and Brazil losing their resp matches and out of the tournament.....

I slept at Dev's room itself that day. Morning woke up at 9 and went for breakfast. Came back had a nice bath and slept for 2-3 hrs before going back to lunch.... after lunch took many snaps of the gardens , flowers etc came back to room and slept.

We were leaving today (sunday 2nd July) so woke up at 4.00pm and packed my stuff. Man my bag was heavy due to kaju and other stuff. We sat in a bus which was to take us to margao. The bus started finally at 5.45pm thanks to some team members who were lost and others we finding them as to where they where......

We reached margao at 6.30pm and our volvos were ready there..... Finally we left at 7.00pm for Pune. We reached Panaji at 8.15pm and were searching for a good hotel till 10.00pm when we found one at Mapusa thanks to Pankaj and others.

We had dinner and came back. Started for Pune at 11.00pm from there. Once again the route was the same and we had the same exp in the ghats although it was raining more heavily...... We finally reached Pune around 9.30am Monday......... with good memories of our trip........... So this was the trip details wanted to share with u all .......

Gum hai kisi ke pyar mein

This is taken from Kishore kumar's songs... I like it.....

gum hai kisi ke pyar me
dil subah shaam
par tumhe likh nahi paoon
mai uska naam
haye ram
haye ram

socha hai ek din
mai usse milke
keh daalu apne sab haal dil ke
aur kar doo jivan uske hawale
fir chhod de chahe apna banale
mai toh uska re hua deewana
ab toh jaisa bhi mera ho anjaaam
Gum hai kisi ke.........

chaha hai tumne jis bawari ko
wo bhi sajan wo chahe tumhi ko
naina uthaye to pyar samjho
palke jhukade to ikrar samjho
rakhti hai sabse chupa chupa ke
apni hoton me piya tera naam
Gum hai kisi ke...

gum hai kisi ke pyar me
dil subah shaam
par tumhe likh nahi paoon
mai uska naam
haye raaaaam
haye raaaaam..

Fix the incidents

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh...........................................

This is one thing I hate. Fixing bugs and incidents. They are the most boring task in the whole world.. Actually being a software engineer we need to do this. i have seen many engineers do this kind of work their whole lives. What hell life man!

But Im fortunate that where I work I get a good amt of quality work and some amount of incident fixing also :( which I have to do !

Fixing other people's incidents is the most terrible task we have to do. Firstly something doesnt work properly and then everything goes kaput and then... the person who has done this task goes on leave and enjoys while the poor ones working get assigned these incidents!

Good God above will there never be an end to this ! I dont thing so..... Incidents and bug fixes are there to come which keep the company running!

Man is not perfect so.... expect it

Reservation in Private Sectors

This topic being a hot topic thought about writing about this now...

Well... the HRD minister of India is hell bent on making reservation compulsory in private sectors as well as premier educational institutes in India. What effect does this have on the country...

We have seen protests from students and individuals alike across the country... why these protests?

Why cant we give a fair chance to one and all to make it? One thing is for sure you must have heard the proverb "survival of the fittest" is what needs to be shown here. Of course fittest doesnt mean that you should be physically strong but the thing is that u should be able to survive against any odds.

I heard medical students at AIIMS are on hunger strike and 94 of them have fainted without food... And the government has not even allowed media coverage. One thing I would like to personally tell is that the government should think about this very minutely because it holds the future of this country. I dont criticize the govt. or the students. But why was the issue of reservation even thought of?

We hear we have reservations in almost all sectors of society. Why? U go to admission to college u have reservation... u go for some other govt jobs here also reservation.

God made all human beings same and he sent us to do some good things so why the hell do we think about reservations? Opinions opinions anyone...

A government can make a country prosper and the same govt by a small mistake can down a country. No wonder in a country like India people never get a chance to speak and govts do what they want....

The orkut Addiction

Hi

Did u know of a site.. orkut.com. Its a site where u can make friends..Hold on. What do u mean by make friends??
Make friends means u can meet old acquaintances, meet new friends and interact with them over scraps. So... isnt it cool?

Well... it is and its not... I will tell u reasons for that...I am myself a member of Orkut and have more than 100 friends. Some I know..some i made. But one thing is when I was introduced to orkut I was completely addicted man!
Whew..... wat a site must say!

But the flip side is as they say "The internet is never safe". I heard of instances where people use gals photos there morph it and post bad things about anyone.. u have porn communities everywhere in the world... orkut has many!

One more thing .... How do these websites provide space for such activities? How do they survive ? Anyone thought about it... I have seen people who have 10000 scraps in their book and obviously 1 scrap takes some amt of space and given by the amount of people on orkut... i must say that become colossal isnt it?

i dont know the amt of people there on orkut.. but say if u have 200 crores of people there and each one has even 100 scraps and say 1 scrap takes 10 kb whooooooosh....... see the calculation... i wont do it :-)

Well people are addicted to orkut like people are addicted to drinks, cigarettes and others.I have seen many people continuously on orkut the whole day whiling away their time at work.... does it make sense... it does make sense when u strike a balance between work and play.... as the saying goes "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy but ... all play and no work makes Jack even duller "

So ... understand the gravity of the problem and act upon it before it becomes too late....
